Search engine optimization (SEO) techniques are so well known that it continues to amaze me that many if not most Web sites ignore the basic principals.
In this article Julian Sambles, reviews the top six SEO problems with the Royal Family's new Web site at www.royal.gov.uk. As he says, "It is disappointing that as our head of state, Her Majesty has allowed the creation of a website which should have been designed to engage with her subjects as much as possible but has overlooked the basics of good Search Engine Optimisation."
My first rule: Create the SEO plan before building the Web site.
